Common questions about therapy, fees, insurance, and what to expect when working together.
Session fees range from $135–$195, with a typical private-pay rate of $175. This isn't about the cost of an hour of my time. I care most about helping clients make lasting change. If cost is a concern, please let me know. I provide a superbill each month for your personal records and potential insurance filing.
Therapy is an investment, and you should always know what to expect from one. I occasionally have sliding-scale spots available; if I have any open, I'm happy to discuss that with you.
I currently accept Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS). For all other insurance, I can provide a superbill you can submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your benefits.
Please note: for insurance filing, including a superbill for reimbursement, a medical diagnosis is required. You may still receive care without a medical diagnosis if you prefer.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), I diagnose and treat mental health concerns through a systemic lens. There are many systems that shape mental health, family, school, work, friends, and more, and I work with teens, individuals, and families with all of those in mind.
MFTs are recognized as core mental health professionals alongside psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and licensed professional counselors. I look at your life through the context of your relationships, your experiences, and your everyday encounters to understand the fullest picture of you.

I believe almost everyone can benefit from therapy. Whether you're navigating a lifelong diagnosis or a recent transition, research consistently shows therapy improves life satisfaction.
The therapeutic process is different for everyone. Some clients come in for things that have been impacting them for a while, such as: ADHD, ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), depression, anxiety. Others come in with more situational concerns: anger outbursts, a recent breakup, a hard transition. Whatever you're navigating, you can bring it into the room.
It depends on the client and the situation. Some report feeling better after the first session; others take longer to find that same relief. There's no "right" timeline, we'll move at your pace and take the time to build the trust your work requires.
Yes. I can provide telehealth therapy to clients located anywhere in Tennessee or North Carolina. If you choose telehealth, I'll send you a secure session link ahead of each appointment.
Mostly preference. Research finds that online therapy ("telehealth") is just as effective as in-person therapy. Telehealth often fits more easily into a busy schedule, making it the right call for many clients.
